Cottage Garden Embroidery Pattern

During the holiday break hubby and I decided that it was time to re-paint and decorate the home office.

For over three years we had been trying to ignore the child like bedroom frieze that ran around the wall. The frieze was cute with lots of turtles and fish, and funnily the shapes looked as though they had been blanket stitched around. Sort of craft related but not the look needed for a home office. The room had been decorated by the previous owner and because it became our office when we moved in, it slipped to the bottom of our "to do" priority list.

Although enough was enough, the time had come for a major change.

We had delayed the revamp because a  paint change meant taking all the furniture out of the room and this meant a total clean out of all the cupboards and filing cabinet. A job that I knew hubby would allocate to me...because most of the stuff was mine!

So the heaving and sorting began.

Anyway one of the many good things to come out of this ordeal was that I found things that I forgot I had. This included some of my older designs that I had never gotten around to writing up into patterns. And this delightful little cottage garden embroidery project is just one of them.

The cottage design is inspired from a sketch by my talented Grandmother, so it also has very fond memories for me. The cottage still stands today in my small home town of Canowindra based in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia.

The project has been painted with water colour and then highlighted with hand embroidery. If your passion is embroidery them you will have as much fun as I did bringing this cottage garden to life. Originally designed for a workshop, this pattern is now available for all to enjoy. If you would like more information about this hand embroidery cottage pattern click here

Until next time happy stitching!
Warmly Lenna
