The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Book

Something that I wanted to share with you:

"The 1922, The Farmer's Wife magazine posed this question to their readers: If you had a daughter of marriageable age, would you, in light of your own experience, have her marry a farmer?" The magazine at the time had 750,000 subscribers, and received over 7,000 letters. The best answers to this question are included in this book, along with the traditional quilt blocks they inspired." Amazon

This book intrigues me, how lovely to be able to read the answers to this question. Being raised in a small country town with a close knit farming background, I would love to hear some of the responses that were written by woman back in 1922. It would also be interesting to ask the same question now to compare the answers.

You can check out the book for yourself by clicking the link here, although my advice would be to read the reviews, they appear to be mixed depending on whether you bought the book for the reading or for the quilt blocks themselves. Either way I think it is a lovely theme to have entwined throughout the book.

Here's the link to the book The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt

Enjoy
Warmly Lenna

I appreciate your review of this book. You're right that the Amazon reviews are mixed. I've looked at it several times, and thought about buying it and making the quilt.
